Mechanisms and treatments approaches for osteoporosis
Osteogenesis Imperfecta
Vascular calcification in atherosclerosis

My research is focused on addressing the questions related to osteoblast lineage differentiation in the states of pathological disorders of bone (osteoporosis and osteogenesis imperfecta), and in the field of ectopic calcification (vascular calcification).
I am currently analyzing the performance of osteoblast lineage in the murine model of osteogenesis imperfecta using the promoter-transgene (green fluorescent protein-GFP) approach to address the questions of differentiation of osteoblast lineage,
Recently, I have begun to develop the GFP-lineage based concept to identify the origins of a cell that gives rise to the cells with osteoblastic phenotype (calcifying vascular cells) during the process of vascular calcifications, an as yet undefined population of cells which reside in the arterial vessel wall have the ability to differentiate into cells with the characteristics proper to a mature and functional osteoblast.
